Lighting in a workshop has to deal with more than an open floor. Machines, workbenches, storage racks and structural beams all affect how light reaches the actual working area.
This factory workshop uses LED Linear High Bay Lights as the main overhead lighting.
The fixtures are installed along the ceiling structure and positioned to follow the general layout of the production floor. Their linear shape provides a wider spread of light over workbenches and equipment than a concentrated point source, which is useful in areas where employees move continuously between different workstations.
Machine shadows were one of the main things to consider. Large equipment can easily block overhead light and leave the area beside or behind a machine noticeably darker. A well-spaced linear lighting layout helps reduce these uneven areas and keeps tools, components and work surfaces easier to see.
For everyday production work, the lighting also needs to feel clear rather than decorative. A clean, neutral working light makes it easier to see equipment, surface details and small parts without making the workshop unnecessarily harsh.
The linear fixtures fit well with the exposed industrial ceiling and do not interfere with the equipment below. Their simple layout also makes maintenance more practical in a working factory where access time needs to be kept to a minimum.
The result is a brighter and more consistent factory floor, with useful light focused on the areas where people are actually working.
